Hello to all,
I own a Pardini GT9 5in with the slide vents and experience painful trigger sting when firing the pistol. For those not familiar with the phenomenon "trigger sting", it is the transfer of energy from the recoil of the pistol into the shooters trigger finger. After two mags your finger is battered and numb and your ready to stop.
I have contacted Pardini USA many times and they have stated that it is normal and induced by my shooting technique but I find this very hard to believe. In addition to myself, several others (all experienced shooters and collectors) have fired the pistol and found the experience to be quite painful after several rounds.
I have tried adjusting the trigger to compensate and have had very little success. I did find that dialing in the maximum degree of over-travel possible takes the edge off a bit, making it only slightly more tolerable.
Anyone else had the same experience I have with this pistol? Any suggestions as to how to fix? Pardini sells a recoil buffer system that is integral to the guid-rod; might that help? Perhaps a straight trigger would help? Could it be due to the lower mass and faster action of the lightened slide? One of my pet theories is that it has something to do with the disconnector. I have noticed what I consider advanced wear at the point where the disconnector meets the slide. I have only fired about 250 rounds through this pistol.
Any opinions are welcome, but I am specifically seeking input from those with experience with the pistol, trigger sting, or both.
Ps. The pistol is with Pardini right now.
Best,
BR
