I have a Para Ordnance P-14. Aside from the receiver being thicker for the double stack mag well, can I use any part for the slide (ie barrel, guide rods, springs, trigger, etc)?

I meant to ask if parts from full sized 1911s can work on the P-14.

IIRC, the slide parts should work, but the frame uses a different trigger.

The "newer" P-14's use the Series 80 firing pin block that Colt uses. Also, Para's will have the "Power Extractor" in place, meaning a regular 1911 extractor will not work without doing some machining to the channel.

I have the older Canadian version without a power extractor: if that helps clarify...,

+1 the uppers should work fine but anything on the frame...isn't transferable.

Guide rods, recoil springs, firing pins and firing pin springs should be interchangeable also. I'm not sure about the barrels. Para uses a ramped barrel in their guns. FWIW, I put the top end of a older 1991A1 Colt on my P14 frame (just for experimental purposes) and it worked fine.......
