I've consistently bought Lake City 5.56 XM193 for ~$300 a case for the last couple years. Doesn't seem to be a shortage that I've found but I buy online.

Just over the last couple weeks, I bought several cases of various calibers. A pandemic didn't even enter my mind, I bought because I found some good deals.

So if there's a run on ammo, it hasn't hit online retailers yet. Plenty of it out there at good prices.

I'm not stocking up on ammo. Haven't bought any in months.
I have some but could always use more. I mean, who doesn't?
But I'm just too broke from buying toilet paper all week.
    Priorities, man.

The pandemic is just the prelude to the real zombie apocalypse, when survivors will need their stash of ammo. I've invested my life savings in .22lr, the most cost-efficient zombie stopper.

I did say pretty much a mission load out, not an exact load out.
But to get into the weeds, our basic load out was an L85A1 (SA80 Independent Weapon) with 6 x 30 round mags of 5.56 NATO and a Browning High power with 3 x 15 round mags of 9mm.
The L85 was a terrible rifle that we spent more time clearing blockages than we did shooting. I believe it has been improved since with a new version.

    As a civillian in California I have an AR15 with 8 x 10 round mags, and a Glock 19 with 3 x 10 round mags. I set aside 1 box of 5.56 per mag = 160 rounds and box of 50 9mm.

I buy my range ammo at the range and shoot it there. That way I don't get backround checked and my purchase recorded by the state, since it is not required if you purchase and use ammo at the range.

Regardless of what branches use what load outs, I cannot imagine a protracted gunfight in a civilian setting that would run through 11 full rifle/pistol mags (even CA low capacity mags) and then almost a full reload of all those mags.
No one wants my cans of spam and baked beans that bad. Especially with so many easier, softer targets.

I wonder how steady I'll be while sneezing, coughing and pooping?

I figure a .22 LR to the head is just as good as a .45 to the head.

You know all that medicine that helps keep crazy people from doing crazy stuff? A lot of it comes from China and a lot of it won't be coming this way for a while. Could get interesting.

Well, clearly the panic has set in. No N95 masks available. No hand sanitizer wipes available. TP going fast (how much does anyone really need?). And now a run on ammo? Really? How many people are you going to shoot?

People sitting at home, afraid in front of their TV and computers are easy to control and for the news media to sell ad space into

Is this serious? You don’t own an AR-15 if this is all the ammunition you have. You own an expensive paperweight that will very briefly act as an AR-15.

You aren’t prepared to even be able to use your rifle after a range session, let alone an emergency, pandemic, legislative effort against ammunition, surge in ammo prices, etc.

50 rounds of 9mm as your supply?
