It was such a small production run.
They absolutely could use the the same mold they are using for the P80 series with the blocks in it. The blocks would take little to machine.
But why do it?

If you took 100 Glock owners how many even know of the existence of a G19 Gen 1.
It would need someone behind it like Lipseys was.

It would certainly increase the value of the original guns.

I saw one at my LGS but they must be in love with it as they priced it at $800. That was a hard pass.

Picked one up Thursday for $539. Passed on a gen 2 back when they first hit the market, I thought they were too weird. The polymer frame and all. Look at me now, buying a repro.

My local academy has had the same p80 in its cabinet for 2months. They are selling, but just pulling them from the back. I think to the average person they are picking the gen 3’s, 4 and 5’s every time.

really a niche gun.

Just picked up a P80 from a small local shop. I first saw it there a month ago.

Chatted with the employee about it while doing paperwork, and they said this is the first one they've sold and the only one they could get. Said nobody was interested in it, and they had to explain to everyone exactly what it was.

Paid $585 for it.

Just picked one of these up today in like new condition for $500. Pretty pleased with it overall. Had wanted a Gen1 for quite awhile. This will satisfy that urge.

Thought the price was good too considering the current climate.

That’s like thinking a hit of crack cocaine will satisfy the urge.

Congratulations on you new gun (great price too)! Can’t wait to see your next one! 😎

Speaking of cocaine. My Gen 1 AF 17 was originally owned by a friend in this book. I know it’s been to Columbia and Belize. Had to get a P80 when they came out. What memories it brought back of my friend. He passed away in 2012.

I think I've hit my limit in Glocks. Was actually considering getting rid of a couple before this one popped up out of nowhere. Funny how that works.
Although if a good deal on a G20, G21, or maybe even a G38...........😁

I wonder if these things will ever have collector value? If not, I'd rather have a Gen5 (later edition) 17.

Cant see these being worth much more than any other Glock. Could be wrong. If you just want a Glock with the most flexibility one of the newer generations with light rails and other doodads would be better. If you always wanted a 1st gen this is the next best thing.

No limits
It's sort of a disaster of a reproduction. I think someone here said that. Gen 3 internals, weird Gen 3 box, etc.

Frankly, I'll buy it as a shooter for fun. I have a 17.5 without the finger grooves, but I really like the look of the non-railed frame.

You NEED a 21.4 (or Gen 5 when they eventually update it). It's a great gun and you will have a lot of fun with it.

Then some crazy person on this board will post some great pictures of a Glock 20 and you'll have to get one....
