Hello h&k fans, looking to buy first h&k. I've narrowed it to P30 and leaning to 40 cal. On h&k website the p30 in 40 has 3 variations all with manual safety. Did i read that info. correct ? If so is it removable ? Rather just the decocker and no safety. Also are there 9mm barrels available for this model ? I have a sig 2022 in 40 and love it, but i am giving it to grandson for his 21st birthday. Thinking about a sig p229/40 but i have a 229/9mm, want something different. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

How the hell should I know?
Really nice choice. I got a P30 in 9mm and .40. 40's an excellent shooter, enjoy every minute of it and it's a part of my carry rotation. I picked up the .40 da/sa with no safety. Now the P30 will be either an LEM (no safety or decocker), da/sa with or without a decocker. There's no other variation.

Sure i'm going with P30/40 cal. decocker with night sights, like to find a drop in 9mm barrel down the road. Thanks

Sounds like a great choice. The P30's are very fun to shoot.

P30/.40 can be had in the LEM version with no safety or decocker. I believe about all versions can be converted to LEM by a competent gunsmith. All mine have been done by James at Teufulsheund (sp?)Tactical in NC. He goes by Marine 0303 on HK Forums

I have a P30/.40 that I am looking for a .357 Sig barrel for. Rim Country makes them but tell me they won’t have these again till summer

There are several variations/versions. V1 and V2 are DAO triggers. V1 can be LEM which is a lighter trigger pull than V2 but both are very smooth pulls. No thumb safety. V3 is a DA/SA trigger with decocker. With or without thumb safety.

With .40 caliber you can purchase both a 9mm and/or 357sig drop in barrel.

The P30 is an outstanding handgun no matter what variant. I have the P30S V3 40 s&w and is crazy accurate. Especially nice if you like hammer fired handguns.

I'd like to shoot a P30 in .40 cal. I only have one .40 in my collection, a USP Tactical. Shoots nice, especially with 180gr stuff?

If it shoots like the P2000, and I suspect it does, it would be a pleasure to shoot.
