Can the gun be loaded/unloaded with the safety on?

Is up safe/down ready to fire? How is decocking accomplished?

Finally, is the detent good and stiff (i.e. no accidental change in position while holstered)?

You should check out sigforums.com.

Decocking is done like a 1911. As for your other questions got to sigforum.

Its a sig that thinks its a 1911...everything about operating a 1911 plays.

So: No, yes, and there is no need. Realistically there is no reason to decock a single action auto b/c loaded it should be cocked and locked and unloaded you can dry fire or use your thumb (if you are REALLY hell bent on decocking it, my 1911's are always cocked).

Yes the detent is stiff. The safety won't come off by accident.

Yes, unlike a 1911 with the P220 SAO you can rack the slide with the safety on.

Yes, just like a 1911

Similar to a 1911

Mine is noticeably stiffer than on a typical 1911, but not so stiff that it's difficult to cycle it on and off safety.
