    Hopefully, this is the beginning of a trend nationwide.

    The Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office today released data on the number of persons who changed their party affiliation on their voter registration in the weeks before or on the date of the 2018 Primary Election – August 21st.

    12,509 persons in total changed their party affiliation between July 6th and September 20th:

    • 6,057 Democrats changed and registered as Republicans;
    • 4,355 Unaffiliated persons changed and registered as Republicans;
    • 744 Unaffiliated persons changed and registered as Democrats;
    • 477 members of the Constitution and Libertarian parties changed and registered as Republicans;
    • 430 Republicans changed and registered as Democrats; and
    • 296 persons of various parties changed and registered as Unaffiliated.
    Of those 12,509 persons who changed their party affiliation, 701 subsequently changed their party affiliation again and re-registered back to their original 2018 party affiliation.

    A person is allowed under Wyoming law to change their party registration. Party changes are entered into Wyoming’s voter registration system by county clerks and their staff. County clerks have until 30 days after an election to enter registration changes into the statewide database.

    “It is absolutely vital that anyone analyzing these party change numbers understand that these numbers are tied to a person’s voter registration and do not represent total ballots cast in the election, and that these numbers do not indicate for whom a person voted,” said State Election Director Kai Schon.

    Looks like a dull thread by the lack of replies. Perfect for me to reveal my super-secret powers of political predictions.

    1. My best and most trusted indicator is simple observation............ to wit, Obama holding 2 rallies, and couldn’t get a thousand people to show up between the both of ‘em!!

    2. Trump drawing 12,000 every week to his rallies!!

    3. Momentum.......... it’s the Big Red One!

    Prediction: House kept and Senate kept.

    ETA: the millennials were humiliated so bad by supporting Hillary, they won’t start slowly returning to the voting booth until 2024.

    Get rid of the fake, moderate, John Testicle.

    Big, white, fat, flat top hair, looks like your next door neighbor but votes like Schumer.

    Rush said the same thing and forget where, but I saw someone with polling data that shows this trend as well. The Senate is the one most agree looks the best, it is the House we don't know. The silent majority is real and the Republican base is fired up right now. Dems should be worried.

    The last poll from a month ago had Tester up 3. I imagine he is down 3 or 4 by now.

    If you don't get out and vote, the numbers don't mean Sh%T.

    Oh, that’s built into the prediction. Everyone here knows what they have to do.

    Great for Wyoming and all 12 people who live there. It’s nice to hear, but seriously Wyoming is about as far from the center of electoral politics as you can get.

    it's not limited to Wyoming, it's happening here too. Republican registrations are outpacing dems 4 to 1 while unaffiliated numbers are falling.

    Effectively it is a dead heat. The actual results do tend to move Republican due to Democrats tending to not go and vote more often than Republicans.

    This Tuesday marks the two week warning. At that point you start to see the undecideds start to move. If you see it narrow it might just go Republican.

    I won't forget one thing. You, snerd, were fantastic on election night 2016. I couldn't stand to watch the results live so I just stayed up to date on the election thread that night. Your energy and optimism were great. I'm really, really hoping your optimism has a repeat truth to it.

    That's funny. I'm sure all those democrats changed to the republican party so they could vote democrat.

    With regard to Tester: I consider a dead heat against an incumbent senator as an advantage to the challenger. When sitting senators are within the margin of error, they are in trouble.
