Ordered a Kahr K9 and they sent me the wrong gun!

So I thought I was ordering a base kahr k9 new and I paid a nice chunk of change too. What they sent me was not a kahr k9!

...What came in was a new kahr k9 03 Elite!

$575 shipped isn't too bad right?

Cool, I think. :dunno: Pics are too small to see.
Awesome, enjoy your new Kahr. I am still enamered with my new CM9.
Whats the difference?
So the real question is are you going to be honest, and refund the difference or will you take advantage of their mistake and be dishonest and steal?
Nice gun...the metal guns are the best overall Kahrs out there for reliability.

Well, technically he did pay. Just not the right amount. I prefer "steep discount" as opposed to "stealing". Lol. But good question I look forward to the response from the OP.

Maybe the distributor KNEW what they were doing.

Maybe they didn't have a base model in stock so they sent an elite instead.

Maybe the distributor got an awesome deal on the elite's and are moving them at the same price.

But no, it's easier to assume the worst and make snotty comments. . .

You could have asked. . . "What did your dealer (or the distributor) give as a reason for the mix up?" But I guess it's just easier to imply that someone is a thief.
The title of the thread and his wording make it seem that the dealer sent the wrong gun. He knew he got a product he didnt pay for, maybe the dealer did it but i doubt it was done on purpose as they would want or willing to lose that much money.
Keenshooter can say whatever he wishes, I say great upgrade!!!!
The OP could just as easily say the distributor ripped him off my selling him a 2003 pistol instead of a 2011 manufactured pistol. In fact the wholesaler paid less for the 03 Elite than he would for a 2011 K9.
He damn sure didn't get the product he paid for, he got a "cheaper" gun.
OP got ripped off!
I swear GT has the most self-righteous busybody d-bags of any forum I've ever been on.
keenshooter, it's the responsibility of the seller, not the buyer, to ensure that the proper item is shipped. It does not become incumbent upon the buyer to take it upon themselves to contact customer service and go out of their way to ship it back.

I'm sure you have received a basket of seven chicken wings instead of six, or realized that the lady at the grocery store forgot to scan one of your 85 items when you're looking over the receipt. Do you rush back to correct the seller's error?

Caveat emptor (buyer beware) is true.

Caveat venditor (seller beware) also is.

not calling him a thife. That depends on what he does now

Parts are polished and "Elite '03' is engraved into the gun. Its the same gun and all parts are interchangable.

When I went in a K40 for a frame problem I got back a K40 Elite '03. They do things like that all the time. You can call 'em and tell 'em, but they'll likely just say, "Yeah, we figured you'd like it. Have fun!"

My next purchase will be a CM9 or Kel-Tec PF9. Kel-Tec's cheaper, but I've been wanting to try a Kahr. As long as it's reliable, accurate, easy to carry, and a sub-compact 9mm less than $425, I want it

Is their service that good?

Why don't you get off your high horse and go crap on someone else's forum. Did someone pee in your coffee this morning? I wanted to share my good fortune and find with my fellow GTer's because i thought it would be a good story. I dont need to be lectured by some self righteous idiot about good and bad.

FYI, I confirmed with the distributor the serial number and model of the gun over the phone before I accepted the transfer from my ffl. I always do this to make sure someone doesn't switch guns on me. I'm not taking the chance of screwing with federal statutes by accepting the wrong gun with the incorrect serial number.

The distributor told me a few things:
1) that indeed was the gun they were selling at that price, but it was mistakenly not marked 'k9 elite' as such on their advertisement. Therefore, technically they did ship the wrong gun, but the sale price is correct for the elite.
2) they got 5 in during the time of my purchase and they all sold within 12 hours. I was one of the lucky ones who happened to jump on the deal.
3) they made another order with kahr

Hit the submit button on accident before I finished typing...

3) they made another order with kahr arms including more k and mk elites in both 9mm and .40. Could be in next week or in 6 months, doesn't know for sure. Unfortunately, they do not take preorders (otherwise I would buy an mk 9 elite for that price!)
