I finally upgraded to a cable modem from dial-up. Speedguide.net has a free TCP Optimizer program (http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php)that they say will optimize the Windows XP registry settings to provide "up to 200% faster" performance. Anyone used this or other similar software? Did you notice a significant performance improvement?

I've tried those things. The ones for Windows 98 seem to work fairly well.On Windows XP they don't seem to make much difference.I always have a faster broadband connection with Windows XP than Windows 98 anyway.Windows XP seems to adjust itself very well. That program may or may not help in Windows 2000.
