    Every now and then you find a single vehicle accident... generally around here the driver fled... but you sit there thinking "I hope he's not 30 feet into that brush over there"...

    We had a trooper tag an abandoned vehicle and miss a dead body......in the back seat of the vehicle.

    The same thing happened near here a few years ago. Night shift... Delaware County Sheriff's Deputy gets sent to a one car crash near Centerburg, close to the county line, and fails to find the deceased guy thrown from the car. The family sued, claiming he woulda lived if they'd done a better scene search.

    In his defense obviously fire and EMS missed the guy, too.

    Oh well, stuff happens.
