I have had great experiences with Ammunition to Go, SGAMMO, and Kyle's Gun Shop. All three ship quickly. Kyle's requires that you send them a copy of your drivers license. The the other two do not.

since i am new to gun carrying what is a good place to purchase ammo online?
i've googled and found plenty of places but i just wanted to get everyone's opinion on their favorites.
I've ordered a bunch of stuff from sgammo.com No problems whatsoever.

I've also ordered from Cheaper Than Dirt and I did not have any problems.

I've ordered from perhaps four different Internet outlets, all of them worked out well.

Price-per-box is the most important factor, but after finding the best deal be sure to check shipping charges. And be sure to confirm that your particular items are "in stock" because I've read some horror stories of clients waiting months to receive their shipments.

+1 to ALL of the aforementioned retailers:wavey:

I'd also like to add sportsmansguide.com and even budsgunshop.com:thumbsup:

SGammo.com is my favorite, I shoot .40 & they have GREAT prices on really good quality ammo.

But here's your new best friend...

http://gun-deals.com/ammo.php?caliber=.40+S%26W

Pick your caliber, and it breaks it down to price per round including shipping, type of ammo(JHP, FMJ...), reloads or new factory, etc... They don't sell ammo, just shows the prices from a ton of online retailers.

Check local prices before ordering on line. Just saw ammo at Walmart (.223) for less than I could order it when considering shipping.

I have good experience with USA AMMO reman and new fmj/jhp in 38+p, 40sw, and 45acp.

I have a Cheaper Than Dirt 2 minutes up the road from me here in FTW Tx.... so they get most of my impulse ammo buys.

When I have time and think in advance I always order from USA AMMO .com

True, sometimes. But, for me... if the difference in cost is just the shipping, I go the online route rather than drive around town. Don't forget that if you buy locally, you add in sales tax. So, sometimes it's a wash. Again... I love that it shows up at my door rather than having to get in my car, drive at least a half hour round trip, deal with traffic, deal with people at walmart, deal with WAITING for the walmart staffer to get the key and open the case... and so on.

With online shopping, I can do it in my underwear while watching Leno. Then the "brown truck of happiness" shows up at my door with my goodies. It's just so much easier.

Oh... so far, I've used (with good results and in no particular order):

Just got a order from bulkammo.com I got it the day after I placed the order. The shipping was reasonable for how much I was ordering. (1050 rounds weighs more than you think) I also found a coupon code so I decided to get a box of something a little nicer than what I am practicing with. Customer service is great. The best part is that they let you see how many they have in stock in case you want to stock up.
