Be a good thing to keep in the tackle box for blasting carp off my line.
I’d rather keep a Glock in the box then that garbage lol.

I saw my first one in the wild this week and was thoroughly impressed with how hideous it was. It might run with no issue but….no way

Never shot one but my buddy is an instructor and says he's seen a ton of failures of all kinds and from various guns in his classes. He said the funniest one he saw was a guy getting his CCW with a Hi-Point. He's never been a fan, but danged if it wasn't working flawlessly the whole day and commented on it to the student. At the end of the day when they were doing their actual qualification to finish, the guy steps up to the line, and halfway through his string of fire the slide flew forward and onto the ground. The student looks up and says, "If I was in spitting distance, I might have knocked the wind out of him with that shot". They laughed about it and he borrowed a gun to finish off his qualification.

Have you ever seen, in person, a Hi-Point fail? I have never shot one but from what I understand, they pretty reliably go bang.
I have had one fail. I bought the 45. My first handgun and after several thousand rounds the spring on the firing pin wore out to the point it snapped in half. I simply took it out put it together backwards broken put it back in and it kept working. And then I emailed customer service and they sent me a brand new one

As much as we rag on Hi Point they must sell a lot of them. They seem to have been around a long time. Someone’s buying them.

After watching most of this video, the only thing decent about that gun is the price. I've never seen Hickok miss so much with any pistol. Also his difficulty with slide use. Breakdown sucks too. Very heavy and as big as the G19 with only 8 rounds.
Well it’s a big straight blowback with a pot metal slide, a super high bore axis, and a terrible trigger. Price and reliability are the only good things about them. They do work much better than some of those Saturday night specials

No, but I have seen less than 100 rounds fired though them. I did shoot a Hi Point carbine a few years ago. Accuracy was similar to the Daisy BB gun I got for Christmas when I was 6.
That surprises me. My mom's 995 shot groups half the size of my Ruger PC carbine off a rest.

She keeps that carbine loaded around the house. I sent the Ruger down the road.

That is one "roll mark" that is fitting.
If I had a choice between going hands on with an armed assailant and that gun, I'd take that gun.

I'm going to have to buy one now. If it's cheap, goes bang and is reliable it has it's place in the firearm world. I really don't think a criminal attacking someone that has a Hi Point is going to pause and comment on the guns looks as they'll be too busy either dodging bullets or counting the holes in their body,
