I’m a Glock guy. I love Glocks and own more than a few. However if one can’t afford a Glock, S&W. Ruger, etc then the above Hi Point for $180 looks GREAT?
While a HiPoint might be a low point for some gun owners, at under 200 the HiPoint price point is on point for others.

I’ve owned one hi-point, and probably owned at least 15 handguns or more before that point. $80 and it never failed. I shot the heck out of it just to test it. Actually was able to trade up with it. It would have been a good truck/atv gun. Ugly? yes. Cheap? yes. Works? Yes. Buy another? I would again for $80. Hell, I’d buy one for $150 now days just to have in a convenient location. They work. And they serve a purpose. Am I a huge fan, absolutely not. But maybe I am in a different way lol.
My brother owns a C9 , it's been very reliable. HP replaced once for free . They got better CS than other gun companies selling there pistols at 500+ dollars.
Talk about them all day, but they work fantastic and customer service is great.

I bought a Hi-Point C-9 many years ago, just see if they were as bad as one guy in particular on the internet said they were. The one I got wasn't bad at all. It just chugged along sending whatever FMJ 9mm ammo that was on sale that week down range. American Eagle, Winchester White Box, Blazer Brass, Remington UMC, range reloads...Even a few hollowpoints. Hit the target about as well as any other gun I was shooting back then.

I "field stripped" it once, and decided never again. After that I cleaned it with WD-40, and paper towels, used a pencil for a cleaning rod, and used Q-tips around the ejection port/feed ramp area to clean what I could reach. It worked.

Kept it a couple of years, put about 2000 rounds through it. I had a half-dozen malfunctions in that time, and four of them came out of one box of "range reloads". It still looked the same as the day I got it. By then I was bored with it, and sold it for more than I paid for it, and had a half dozen or so "I'll take it if he doesn't" offers standing in line.

I've thought about buying another, just for grins and giggles, but I've already got too many guns I don't have time to shoot.

I don't understand all of the hate for Hi Points. Sure, they're not beauty queens but they are reliable as hell, very inexpensive, all American made and the company has the best customer service out there. The company stands behind their products which carry a lifetime warranty.
Imagine if they made it look just mediocre....or "standard" like most other pistols...

I bought a JHP, and 4595 for a camping combo. I sometimes go camping for a week at a time, and I've had gear get soaking wet and muddy.

Seemed like a good solution to me.

When customers were interested in these at the FFL, a couple of us always commented that if you ran out of ammo it doubles very well as a club, it's two weapons in one.

My 4595 is great. I don't treat it well and it never fails to feed and fire. I've shot all types of junk ammo thru it and love that it even feeds 200 grain semi wadcutters.
