I got my deer today. Or at least the Buck part. I still have a doe tag to fill but that I have until the end of December to worry about. Not a really eventful story. I went into my tree stand that I set up the day before on state owned land. Got in there this morning late. Like 1/2 hour after shooting light. Sat there until he showed up. Another guy that I hunt with was supposed to drop his kid off at the bus stop and meet me in there later and push the deer out of the brush towards me. But this buck stepped out at the edge of the clearing and BANG! One shot with a Colt Delta Elite 10mm handgun. The shot was at about 50 yards. I paced it at 47 paces and my pace is slightly longer than a yard. I don't even know what kind of ammo I was using. I think it was a brand called spitfire... or something like that. A rapid expansion hollow point bullet. Without going into a lot of detail the shot placement messed up some of his memory curcuits and he instantly forgot how to do anything except fall down, which he did spot on. Anyway, on with the pictures. He's not the biggest monster but he's respectable for a handgun kill at 50 yards.
