Pretty disappointed to see pig noses coming standard on the new Gen 5 Glocks right out of the box. Really? You can't fix this problem Glock...and you wonder why the military chose the Sig P320 over Glock.

What impairment to functionality does this "problem" cause for you? If none, then yours may be a little bit of overreaction to this easily-fixed "problem".

I also find this characteristic to be unattractive, so I fixed it with a hot air gun four years ago for my Glocks with full size frame. They are still good.

Glock isn't going to fix it. :)

On the one hand, that "feature" doesn't make a bit of difference.

On the other hand, as the owner of a company, I would be embarrassed to have produced something that looks so ridiculous.

So pig nose is why the military chose Sig? I hadn't heard that one.

Come on man this is not perfection nobody else has this problem yes it is a problem I shouldn't need to melt a new gun to make it right.

Then there is only one solution if it bothers you that much.
Sell it and buy another brand.
But, you're right, you would think that they would have figured this out by now! It doesn't affect shooting the gun but it looks like sloppy workmanship!

I've never really noticed if mine has it or not. If it's not in a holster it's pointed at something or someone, at that point I'm concentrating on the front sight:)

I don't think I should be able to see a gap between the slide and frame of a pistol, but such is the case with all my polymer framed pistols, except my H&K's:
The slide/frame gap thing doesn't really bother me, nor does a minor amount of pig nose, which exists on each of my Glocks; a Gen4 G19 and Gen3 models G20, G21SF, G33 and G35.

Admittedly, aesthetics play a considerable role in my firearm purchasing decisions, but since Glocks are more about function than appearance, I let my guard down and overlook any minor issues like the "pig nose".

Please stop now. Any criticism of a Glock will only brand you as a "hater". Other than the HK goobers, Glock-heads are pretty vicious. I like my Glock's for what they are but it's never been a religious experience for me.

Confucius say: Pig Nose is better than Sig Crotch Hole.

At least Sig will quickly get over Crotch hole. Glock has had 5 generations to overcome pig nose and still hasn't accomplished it yet.

Fixing it is just a matter of letting the molded piece cool slowly so that any strain in the mix relaxes.
Worked the same for glass. A machine spitting out 2500 pieces an hour of molded glass "anneals" the glass by keeping it warm for a minute or 2 after squeezing it. Otherwise the glass tries to go back to it's original shape and breaks. I worked for Sylvania in another lifetime.

Why overcome a winning striker fired, drop safe, polymer framed pistol design at all?

What the hell is a "pignose"? The pictures posted look like a pistol to me. What am I missing here?

I've never noticed the pig nose till it was pointed out to me here. I'd have never noticed the Gen 5 "tusks", if not pointed out here. I think people should spend less time looking at their Glocks, and more time shooting them.

The Army chose Sig over the glock because of the pig nose?!?!? wow... now way! I thought it was because Sig came in 100 million cheaper and still fulfilled the contract requirement.

You are brilliant. More threads, please!
