I'm not QUITE ready to say it's a done deal yet. The bill passed the house with 89 votes, but only had 77 vote to override the veto. If there's that big of 'change of heart' in the Senate, there could be a problem.

What about some activist judge legislating from the bench and at least delaying things by allowing numerous antigun court challenges? Happened when CCW was passed in MO. Took months to get it all straightened out.

Let's hope not. It would be nice if this state could at least do this right.

I think it'll be okay, but the loss of 12 votes was pretty drastic in the House.

Is the Senate back in session and voting on this yet? If they don't pass it by the end of the day, what happens?

Can an IL resident carry in their car with an out of state ccw?

I probably wouldn't try it. It might protect a non-resident in their car, but I'd be willing to bet they'll hammer any resident trying that.
