The 100's never really gathered the pre/post '64 cachet that the M70 rifle did. They were never a big seller, and after the recall (the firing pins break and cause the gun to slam fire and blow up) they never gathered much collectablity either. Like new ones are $600.

They are fairly popular in Maine. I have worked on three in the last two years for feed problems or rough operation. Cruddy chamber and dirty gas system all three times. Being a redneck myself when I call someone a "hick" it is a derogatory term. Well, these "hicks" are not very particular on cleaning, lube and storage. They get p/o'd when a gun starts having problems around 45 years old.

Keep it clean and lubed and it will work well for you. Note: replacement magazines are expensive and anthing other than OEM Winchester is a waste of money.

.243s go for more. .308s go for less.
