I went outside earlier to watch the space station fly over and as it was headed east in the same quadrant, one of the DC3's that shuttles freight out to the islands was headed westerly back to the airport.

I saw it a couple times (before I knew what I was seeing) and tried to explain it to everyone else, whom didn't see it. They told me to get some foil and make a hat.

    Then I found this: http://www.heavens-above.com/

    Very cool.

DC3s make one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard.

That and old 3406 Cats with straights pullin' a big load on the highway.

Gotta love the old heavy hitters...

Mars Flying Boats never lost a passenger.

I'd rather take a long, slow trip with plenty of room on board (and the 1950's rules on flight attendants) than be crammed in a modern passenger jet. And yet, the planes keep getting bigger and the seats keep getting smaller.

The entire first Wright Brothers flight could take place inside a C-5A.

Yes but flying no longer effectively excludes people because of income levels. Eventually I am sure some airline will start accepting an EBT card for beverages...:whistling:
