Oh yes, it's very much a thing, ( or at least it was back then) neither my father or anyone else we knew would have Bushmills in the house, none of the bars had it, and I suspect that if someone asked for Bushmills everything would have come to a halt and there would have been a very uncomfortable conversation to follow with the person ( stranger) who ordered it....

Actually, it has little to do with Jameson himself and everything to do with geography; as for it being an American thing, also incorrect....
