wiping hard drives has been discussed here recently. If its been sitting for years its not going to play any new games. Probably won't support any newer record keeping software either. I'd scratch that idea or put 2 NIC's in it and make it a firewall for a new computer.

edited to add, here is the link to autoclave for wiping hard drives

    Hey man,
This is completely 100% unrelated to this topic, but this is the only way I think I can get ahold of ya. I got your PM, but when I went to reply, it said that you don't allow private messages, and it won't let me email you either. If you'd like, you can either send me another PM to let me know if you get it set up to receive them, or you can email me at g_man500a@yahoo.com I'll talk to you later!

This pc will not be connected to the internet. I guess what Im trying to say is how to remove old stored records or set back to factory setting? The pc doesnt seem to be password protected.

find out what type of computer it is (processor speed and memory), what type of operating system it has on it, and whether it has a CD drive or not.

with that info, we can make suggestions.

one option will be to format the hard drive and install an operating system.

You still have not answered the question about the processor speed and memory ... it's probably not going to worth the time or money to upgrade.

Its in really good shape. I guess it'll do for what he wants to use it for. Thanks.

    Ps
Not even worth upgrading to WIN 98?

It really depends on the games he wants to play. For just record keeping he can probably just keep Win95 on there.

If he wants to do record keeping and solitaire, well he can still use Win95! But if he wants to run Doom III, then no. But the original Doom would work fine :)
