I probably could lose 10 lbs if I quit drinking beer, but what fun is that.
Getting older is definitely not for the timid. I could stand to lose 30 or 40 pounds, but what fun is living longer if you can't have the things you love? I've never been very good with deprivation... or self-discipline, if I'm being honest here. I consider myself very fortunate... in spite of a couple of health issues I can still do things I love to do.
I’m up to 50 lbs should go. But I’m doing less.
Cut down the carbs and walk. Best of luck.
Speaking of healthy people about 60% of our calories should come from carbs. Fruits, veggies and whole grains...no little Debbie's
My friend, give cold showers a try. I swear, since I've started taking cold showers, my body hurts a lot less! Look up cold showers on YouTube. Trust me on this.
I pick up a 20lb bag of ice about once a week for a bath. Helps with micro tears.
That's how I lost the 40 pounds. I've got to say it agrees with me... digestive wise... Besides the carbs, the sugar (which is a carb) a modern diet has in it shocked me.
I'm 66 years old, and am known as, "The gray-haired, old, fat man".
Before back and neck injuries, I was 6'-6". After surgeries and "foundation settling", I'm 6'-4".
I quit smoking just about 23 years ago, and went from 195 lbs, to 245 lbs in what seemed to be overnight.
After back and neck injuries, and being less active, I went to 295 lbs!!!!!!
(I know. I know. That a LOT of _ _ _ _ stacked up!)
After finding out that I'm a Type II Diabetic, I stopped drinking soft drinks and slowed waaaaaaaaaaaaay down on the carbs.
Drinks are water, and water, and 1 cup of black coffee w/ 1 teaspoon of sugar per day, and on the rare occasion, a 'taste' of Maker's Mark.
I've dropped to 255 lbs, and have kept it there for almost 2 years.
The great part of this is that I've been able to 'cinch up' my belt, two notches!!!!!!
I agree with you. Fasting is the best. It solves the basic problem of why we become fat in the first place. It works the same way low carb and keto does, but is better than those because you go without any food for most the day.
Give my fitness pal to try. I went from 280 down to 215 in about 6 months. I didn't start exercising until after I had lost 30 pounds. I highly recommend my fitness pal.

+1 for fasting. Our bodies heal the best in a fasted state. The body gets to concentrate on healing rather than digestion.
I hear ya, I am 53 and feel every minute of it. Do your best to lose weight if you can. But remember you have to happy who you are. NOT who others think you should be. When your numbers up bro its up, does not matter the age or weight. Enjoy every day for what it is.
I’m heavy as all get out. 5’ 11” and 335. At 54 that weight starts getting ponderous lol.
I’m screwed as far as walking miles or stair climbing as I just had knee surgery a month ago. Only option I have to lose fat is cutting back on junk eating and pounding water as much as possible. I was tipping 350 back in February so I have had some success.
TO HELL WITH THAT...I'm not giving THOSE up! Have you lost your mind?
