Cute kitty! Advice I've heard in the past with regard to bad breath in cats is to have the cat to the vet first. Sometimes different health problems show up as bad breath, so that's a good first step.

Second reason to see the vet? They're usually pros at teaching how to brush cat's teeth. I've no idea how to do it, but I do know it takes specialized toothpaste, and probably a whole lot of patience on the owner's part.

Best of luck!
Hey Noway.........

check this thread out........this guy brushes BOTH his pooch's and kitty's teeth every morning!! The cat actually waits for the teeth session!!! Then the cat takes a walk on a leash with the dog!! Be sure to check all the pics!! It will crack you up!!!

It's one of my fave threads of all time!!

Get some listerine strips. They not only help his breath, but gives you hours of enjoyment!
We have a dog and 3 cats. Not sure if it has anything to do with it but they only eat dry food. I always thought the crunchy stuff helped with keeping the teeth clean. My wife was concerned with "doggy breath" when we first got him 2 years ago but he still has very good breath and I've gotten compliments from the vet...........and I don't do a thing.....
Will he went to the vet and I was like an nervous dad with a wife giving birth ;)

he has two problems that was not identified at the humane society that's kinda pissing me off.

1> he has inflamed gums only in the back and they aren't stopping him from eating. So a mild case of gingivitis (sp?)

2> He has a URI but the vet is not sure. I paid out $89.00 and some changes for a bloodwork +shot and given a small bottle of clavamax and told to give him this twice a day for a week or till gone.

he's being stubborn we me getting the dipper in his mouth but after a steady attempt I 'm able to give him his meds.

Right now he's still acting normal, jumping over things into things and around things and now his meow is LOUD vrs before it was a soft meow or just the mouth movements.

His breath is also not as bad but I finally started him on 2 per day greenies and that might be helping. He also caught his 1st gecko that was trying to sneak in thru the front door ;)
