Excellent suggestions all the way around, thanks folks. I like this the best. He is so proud of his little Gunny puppy - 5 months old and working reliably off lead, really a good little "show dog." He invited me into his house, gave me a tour of his man cave, showed off his coin collection. He was especially proud of his son's coin he got for being in charge of Marine 1's security detail. He is really a stand-up good guy, At 69 almost 70, he has lots of life experiences to share and I'd be honored to hang with him. He once told me he used to be a powerful man ... I said I'm sure you were, you are a big son of a butch! He corrected me and reiterated it was die to his position in the marines. I never served, but said you were like the general of enlisted people, and he got a grin on his face. Thanks for this suggestion Nope. He drinks a few Miller Lite's but he is a cancer survivor and suffers nerve damage from agent orange exposure. I think he is just really happy that for the first time in his life, he can trust his dog out and about while free.
