I'm a huge fan of Sigs. Always have been. However, I cannot figure out what they are doing with a millions different versions of their guns. Seriously. How many version of the P226 do you need to have? Now, they have the P226 E2 (more ergonomic).

Maybe it's just me. However, I miss the old days what Sig focused on quality and kept it relatively simple.

Some of the options that they are offering are just plain ridiculous!

Americans love variety. If Burger King had only one burger, would you stay there? No, the competition offers more variety...

I have been a vocal critic in the past about the stupid marketing crap Sig does. They come up with one hair-brained product after another and expect everyone to weep tears of joy at their new offerings. Then, they make catastrophic brain-fart decisions with their main-stay weapons (one magazine only, plastic guide rods, MIM parts) and expect their good name to live on in perpetuity. Well, it doesn't work that way.

They need to purge themselves of MBAs and get a few more Marines and Army guys on the staff.

Yes, Americans love variety. However, this is taking it and going off the cliff with it. There is such thing as "too much variety". Are they focusing as much attention on quality? I've been hearing rumors.........

Variation means less quality in manufacturing unless you step up quality processes. No wonder a lot of long time Sig owners like me have lost interest in their products. Sig wants to have their cake and eat it too by offering poorer quality products with poor quality components for the same premium prices. As a great philosopher once said..Homie don't play that.

:dunno: They are sure smoking something.

I have to say I am not a big Sig Sauer fan anymore. Sure their older guns are good but the newer Exeter BS is crap. :puking:

I don't buy any of the new nonsense from Sig. I don't like anything about it.

The exception would be the X-Series, as they're handbuilt in Germany.

Sig can keep the Exeter built crap.

and look at where that landed the Big 3 car companies? Like the OP said, variety is great but there is a fine line between variety and overflooding the market.

I've never stayed at a Burger King. I usually go with Marriott.

Have you seen the "rainbow finish"? Yet, one more unnecessary option.

They even have two different versions of the 556 pistol! Why?

Don't even get me started with the pink Mosquito (although, S&W has done this too).

They're trying to take a slice out of Taurus's and Para's pimp market share.

Remember when S&W did that. People called it the Model of the Month program. Darn near put them out of business.

I always wanted to try a Sig, even though they are all about DA/SA and I don't like it, but now, they have done such a horrible job of brand management that I pretty much could care less about them. Credibility is shot.

I beg to differ, in and out has the most basic menu I've ever seen, and they have lines around the block the entire time they are open with walk up customers as well. I peronally believe quality trumps selection any day. The dollar store has a million items, but they deff aren't the best quality.
