This teaches the children at that school a very bad lesson.

IF there were warnings given... IMO first tickets would be "parking in no parking zone" future tickets will be handicap $$$$...

I ticketed the President of the University. "Fire lane" IIRc $20 He gladly accepted ticket, we became friends afterwards. If he saw me after hrs he had me stop by. Heard parts of his joke (attempts) for speeches.... Talked over issues.
Ok maybe he just wanted a excuse to take a break.

Well, clearly this shows that everyone is equal. It’s just that some folks are more equal than others.

    "Jefferson K-8 School

1543 Tod Ave SW, Warren, OH 44485

This school is rated below average in school quality compared to other schools in Ohio. Students here perform below averageon state tests, are making below average year-over-year academic improvement, and this school has below average results in how well it’s serving disadvantaged students.

    Very concerning:

Test scores at this school fall far below the state average. This suggests that students at this school are likely not performing at grade level.

My Dad was an Elementary School Principal during the late 1950s thru the early 1980s in the rural deep South. How high on his list of problems would you say hyper-pubescent student ranked? He enlisted them as his "Ambassadors". My Dad has been dead for just over 10 years now. I still have men, that I don't even know, tell me how he had a huge positive influence on their lives. Humbling is a word that comes to mind.

    Three principals...

Suspicion as to which one was the violator...

Off to follow the link and read the story...

ETA: The linked news story doesn't positively identify the malefactor... which in 2019 probably means it's the one I think it is.

ETA 2: Ah, ha! This news story identifies the errant principal as a "she," which should mean we're getting closer to identifying the perpetrator as one of two people instead of three, except in 2019 it doesn't!

    https://www.cleveland.com/metro/201...he-tickets-principal-for-illegal-parking.html

ETA 3: LOL. According to this story, the principal did it so much that the Google mobile photographed her car parked there back in the summer.

Still, they go out of their way to avoid showing a picture of the principal, a public employee.

The school is public property. If the Chief assigns the officer there, no one can say otherwise.

Since the Principal had been warned, **** him/her, the citation was most appropriate and the "escort" was way out of line for all the school admin's who were involved. I think maybe the Principal's vehicle should have been towed and stored in addition to the citation!

On second thought: Maybe the "escorted" officer should make it a daily point to provide "very extra" patrol at the school and cite EVERY car parked illegally at the school and tow those that are towable under the law.

Shouldn't that be a added charge? Ok I don't know what... But using your position to punish the Officer who followed the law.... Should get you fired. Especially if warnings given.

As far as the officer being escorted out..... By not causing a ruckus the officer keeps the focus on the behavior of the school officials.

So there is a principal that doesn't follow some very simple laws. Then there is a superintendent that using his authority inappropriately.

So the police chief, and the police union rep, only have to ask the principal and the superintendent why they think what they did is ok? They won't get a good answer. Becuase what happened is wrong.

I can't believe a principal at a middle school doesn't get the choice of parking spots. But instead park in a handicap parking are between spaces.

It may be a public school but it's not public property like, say, a park is. If you don't believe it, go hang out right in front of the front door of one for awhile and see what happens.

I agree. If the school officials say “get out” and no emergency, the officer has to leave. Of course, if he sees the violation from the street , he can go ticket the car again.
