I took the proceeds from the sale of one of my firearms (Barrett 82A1) and ordered two Canon lenses. They should be here Monday!

    EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM
    EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM

Hurry up delivery guy! I'm anxious as all getout!

Sorry to tell you, but both those lenses are sold out, and won't be available until February.

OK, I lied, and am just busting you! Hope they arrive as planned, and that they serve you well. :wavey:

Great glass! That will be my choice as soon as the California lottery finally realizes the error of their ways and rolls the numbers I have chosen. ;)

    I would venture a guess it's because 17-55 is EF-S (for APS-C format only).

I have the el-cheapo 18-55 that came with the XTi kit, and with the "pro-grade" glass there are no gaps in magnification between the two lenses. I also like close-ups of faces but don't like being "conjoined twin" close to the subject. 55mm just isn't powerful enough for most of my shooting.
