So long as someone stays with the vehicle it's OK to park in a fire zone, I get it now. That's good to know:rofl::rofl:

If the person who stays with the car is a driver, and the engine is still running, is it ok then? :)

I always thought people should be able to park in handicapped spots if they are willing to let me cripple them.

This is usually the rule yes. As long as there is a licensed driver in the vehicle you are not parking, but "standing". In most places this is not considered blocking access because you could move the vehicle in an emergency.
