I've got a handful of lowers I need to replace the sling mount on.

Problem is that I have this:

I had nylon webbed leaders with plastic buckes hanging on the rifles. I also had two slings. Well...I moved and somewhere, somehow the slings lost.

I'm wanting to ditch the mount and get something like this:

(Well, that is what I think I want.)

Anything special I should go for? Why suggest an alternative to my preferrence? I mean...what's the reasoning behind it?

I need to outfit multiple lowers, so cost is somewhat of a concern as far as the mounts go (or, then again, maybe not because I can buy one or two at a time). Of course, I'll need a sling (or three) to use with the new mounts.

So -- in essence -- what sling? What mount? Why?

    Go. :wavey:

I only use 2 point slings. G.I. nylon and VTAC padded. I tried the single point sling for a while, they aren't hands free friendly like 2 point slings. I found QD mounts in the rear of the handguard and on the stock the best setup for me.

Sums up my experiences nicely. Once you take a couple shots to the groin from your rifle swinging freely on a single point, you'll seriously reconsider.

Also, the ASAP is noisily obnoxious.

They really, are only ideal for certain situations. My MS-2 stays in 2-point config for 99% of its use.

To the OP, I use padded BFG 2 points on most of my guns. But my HD gun has an MS-2.

    Prefer the BFG.

I agree. Look into the I kick Hippies sling plate, IMO one of the best on the market.

Yep. Tried the Asap.. Sold the Asap. lol

People who run the 2 pt, along with the QD reciever plate. Does the sling not interfere with your cheek weld.. God knows mine did.

2/3 pnt. slings suck for doing transitions. I run an ms3 w/ asap. I'm never going back.

VCAS and VTAC are the only slings I'd ever consider. I've gone the single-point route, and while I appreciate them for certain applications, I always come back to my VCAS slings.

The GI sling. It works for slinging the rifle across my back. Otherwise the gun is in my hands.
