Okay, finally got enough free time in my life to finally go off to my first GSSF match at Shelton, WA. From those who have attended this match, any suggestions on the range? Also, any chance of getting through the stages in a day? I'd rather not have to commute to/from Seattle that weekend. I'll be shooting amateur LE and subcompact.

There are only 3 stages. You should be through in about 3 hours. On a slow day, only 1 hour. On a really busy day, perhaps 4 hours. As soon as you get your scoresheets from registration, give them to the RO at each stage. Then watch the new to GSSF video and you are ready to go. It will help if you have at least 4 magazines.

Bring a lightweight folding chair, sun and bug protection, and a bottle of water.

    Have Fun!

I shot Shelton last year for the first time, and you won't need bug protection unless something really weird is going on with the weather.

Bring food, as I don't remember if they had food for sale at the match. Bring some extra ammo so you can warm up at the fun shoot. Plan on being there longer than 4 hours if you plan on having the armorer work on your guns unless you get there first thing in the AM.

Thanks for the tips! I'm already a certified armorer so no worries there. So I figure we should have things wrapped up in the afternoon, correct? Anyway, any day on the range beats a day of honey-do lists. ;f

Match starts at about 9. If you are there at that time you should be through by noon.

Great! Gives me enough time to stop by my favorite gun store and still hide out from the honey do list!

When is this? And where is the range at Shelton? I don't live too far from Shelton.

    GlockCowboy,
    Check the gssf site www.gssfonline.com
THere are maps there. The range is out there so the map is really useful.
