Just a basic steel 9mm longslide with a killer 2# 4oz trigger. It was a very early Fusion build, sent back for Ion Bond once they started offering that, and more recently I had the boys cut down the mag well for the skinny grips.

Grips are buffalo horn engraved with the Fusion logo, hand made by Slim at http://www.klamathriverwoodworks.com/

This is what it looked like after the Ion Bond, but before the grip work.

Cannot find any pics of what it looked like when originally delivered.

Although I could never spend that kind of money for one 9MM 1911, that is one absolutely beautiful piece. The buffalo grips are very well done, and the magwell was, indeed, blended into the slim grips very well. Obviously very high quality work. I have 1911's in 9MM, .38 Super, and, of course .45 ACP, but the best one is a lowly .45 ACP full custom built by Cylinder & Slide with a Caspian frame and slide and a Bar-Sto barrel. I'm sure you could probably buy two of mine for the price of that one awesome 9MM.

9mm longslide must be like shooting a .22, and I must say that mag well looks great.

I would gladly take you up on that if I could spare the money. I am starting to make a list of 1911's I MUST own and that one is high on the list.

Thanks for the kind words ya'all. I think because it was an early order, prices were lower, but my total cost isn't as bad as you might think. Definitely under $2k (just under 1,700 roughing the numbers in my head) with grips, shipping, FFL etc. If I knew what I wanted up front it would have been a little less. Live an learn. First custom order.

To date it has been fired nearly 5k rounds, and will probably pass 6k in the next month. It is a joy to shoot. If you do your part, it will shoot amazing groups. How many rounds will it take to wear it out?

The reason I went with 9mm obviously is cost of ammo.
