...........yeah, I'll believe that when Obama lets us all carry without a CCW Permit.

I will admit though, despite my unit getting hammered half of the 15 months we were there, a buddy of mine is at the same FOB I was at, and he said they've gotten hit only one since they've been in country (August of last year)......which is a hell of a lot better than we faired. :faint:

What do you think; you imagine he'll actually keep his word on this one?

It did sound like a campaign speech all over again, didn't it?

Like I said earlier, Obama is a one-trick pony. It's all he's good for.

As for pulling out of Iraq, I'm no military genius, but if I were a bad guy over there, let me see... :headscratch:

I know! I'd lay low until you pulled out your troops in August!

Earmarks? Did he have the stones to mention earmarks? Wasn't that one of his many broken campaign promises--no earmarks? Then he signed a budget with nearly 9000 earmarks! :puking:

Transparency? Did he have the gall to mention transparency--another of his campaign promises! And what do we get? Closed door meetings with Chicago-style politics and graft to get what they want! :steamed:

Open Discussions on Healthcare? Did he have the brass to offer open discussions on healthcare? It is his people that bolted the door! It is his people that insist on signing a document nobody even read! It is his people that act like the only approach is a massive new government entity between you and your doctor! :dunno:

I mean, people, really, do you need me to go on? :faint:

    more than you know

It's time for Iraq to take care of Iraq, we have spent enough of our resources and lives helping them out. We still have unfinished busniess in Afghanistan.

I believe he said by the end of his office, not by the end of August. that give him even more time to make excuses.

They're private military companies. I'd call that a mercenary.

Therefor, it has everything to do with it. :whistling:

"Combat troops" leaves a lot of wiggle room. I imagine its not too difficult to reclassify as many troops as you need as "advisors" or something.

In any case, lets see if Iraq before can get through the next election without open Sunni/Shiite warfare or without Kurdistan breaking away before we assume we know what the real stakes will be in August.
