I Doubt you'll see "NY magazines", way too few NY pistol permit holders to justify that, I suspect it's also a number that will be shrinking significantly. Small single stack semis, 1911s and revolvers are the only choice and some pump shotguns. Pretty sad, I'm truly embarrassed to have been born and raised there.

Having to turn them in, sell them within a year out of state, or be jailed is the same as confiscation. I have it on good word that no police officer would participate in a confiscation scheme.

In NY one of the goals of policing is to get guns "off the street". Unfortunately "the street" means "out of the hands of people", so if someone did something mildly stupid in their own home (say like file a restraining order against someone else) they stand a good chance of temporarily having their guns confiscated by the state.

Good luck with that, you need a pistol permit to even touch a handgun in NY, it's not a very large number of pistol permit holders in NY. They know which models held over 7 rounds, they're not stupid. NYSP gets paid WAY too much money for them to not comply with their unconstitutional orders from their Kommunist leaders. When the NYSP comes knocking, anyone left in NY owning a gun will cave.

Remington may move but the Owner of Kimber is a true Yonker or is that Wonker. The magic of the number "7". I can change 7rd mags just as quick as 15 rd mags and only lose a few seconds of meyhem.

This bill is unbelievable. It makes Feinstein's bill look tame. The bill passed the NY Senate 43-18.

I will never spend a dime of my money in that cesspool of a state.

Come sell your guns to us in PA.....still a free state for now. I love NY lakes and mountains but not their laws. I break your laws quite often BTW.

Then they lose their job and pension. Only a 3%er would do that. You are screwed.

I fled NY years ago, hence the PA in PAGunner (at the time I was a medical student, "gunner" is a term used to describe ambitious students) so "gunner" was a double entendre. Anyway I now happy live in south Florida, the gunshine state!

Got a nice spot picked out for them in Oconee County, SC. One for each.

This sucks for NY and for the precedent it will set for the rest of the US. From the Foxnews.com article it appears upstate NY is pretty conservative but I fear NY is like Illinois in that one city runs the entire state.

There might be a specifc mag that will require an upcharge.

However, how many people are going to buy a pistol like a Glock with only a 7-round mag? Something like a Kahr or a good, reliable 1911 would be a better choice simply because you don't have to deal with the fat grip.

Why would Kimber move? They'll just supply the 7 round mag JMB originally intended instead of 8 rounders.

The legislation also increases sentences for gun crimes including the shooting of a first responder that Cuomo called the "Webster provision."

If he wanted to prevent tragedy from striking again, why didn't he make a "Webster provision" that if you're completely crazy and found guilty of "hammer slaying" another human being, you get the chair in one year or less.

As pointed out by many above, it WILL definitely become law.

LOL... who's good word is that?

NY LEOs are a class above the common man and really get off on the whole "sheep dog" nonsense. They have rights the common man does not posses. There is also a special level of government employee worship going on up there.

When Schumer gives the word, doors are going to be coming off the hinges all over the state and masked gunmen are going to rule the night. It's what we payed for with all those Homeland Security funds...

Conservative does not equal Republican does not equal Pro Gun.

There are no pro gun people living in NY, because NY does not allow it's citizens to drink freedom deeply and enjoy the full power of the United States Constitution. I have a whole bunch of folks in my family that are "Pro Gun" that are all over the map as far as Fudd ideology, ARs are OK but no NFA, in home inspection of storage, etc.

The bill just passed a 57% Republican State Senate.

Guns and magazines that are classified as curio and relics are exempt. Got this from one of the links above.
