Ok. It's more complex than the title allows. She really didn't wash OUT of school...on the day of her Regents final her family was evicted.

The city agency that assigns folks to shelters (Homeless Services Dept) mandates that ALL family members have to show up in person for the entire duration of time it takes for processing.

In this instance, the entire process was only 7 hours.

The school allowed her to take the test at a later date, but the state invalidated those results, citing state policies in effect to clamp down on cheating.

As a consolation, she can take the test again in June.

Meanwhile, the state police have been called in to find anyone in HSS with a partial brain, or a functioning heart.

I've provided all of the elements for a good GNG discussion.

    • lazy homeless good for nothing POS family
    • incompetent bumbling city agency
    • cold and unfeeling state agency
    • 9mm vs 45
    • No, she is not hot, and furthermore, she's only 17
    What says you?

yeap the school doing it's best :whistling:

If her story has credit, the PSD could easily validate and give her a 2nd try. Things are really very easy to figure out.

This young teen is in school and trying to finish her schooling. So give he a 2nd try.

She is getting a 2nd try - in June. Her goal was always to complete high school in 3.5 years, instead of 4, given the economic hardships her family has experienced over the years...

Whenever I hear "we're just following protocol," all I can think of is how someone somewhere is too much of a scaredy-cat to think about the situation and make a decision on their own. That's why the person got hired for the job, to make the decisions. Ugh.. it disgusts me.
