Ny triggers

Does anyone use a NY trigger in competition? I use the 3.5 connector, but I was wondering if the NY triggers are better to use instead of the 3.5? I don't know. I was thinking of using a NY trigger in my carry gun (G26), but I was wondering if people use these a lot in GSSF matches. I'm just wondering these things as I work all night!

i use them in several carry guns and have used one in a g34 to get the trigger over 5 pounds. reset feels a lot quicker to me with the NY trigger.
I have seen posts by Butch saying friends don't let friends use NY triggers.
I am using a NY1 with the factory 4.5 connector on my G34, which is used for both competition and carry; the NY1 increases the triggerpull weight to only about 6 lbs.

The shallow connector angle inherent to the 4.5 lb connector provides a slightly faster reset point than with the standard 5.5 lb connector; the problem that I have with the standard factory coil trigger return spring was that the reset point was relatively hard to discern (with the 4.5 "-" connector). I've found that replacing the coil trigger spring with the NY1 trigger spring provides a much more perceptable and crisp feel to the reset point, and there's a constant trigger weight when travelling to the point, with little trigger weight penalty; I also feel much more comfortable when using the G34 for carry with this set-up.

Best, Jon

Hi Sharon -

Although not offered in a gun from the factory, I like NY-1 (green) trigger spring with the "-" connector. I have a G35 and a G34 so equipped. Since they came with the 3.5 connector, it was just a matter of removing the factory coil spring and putting in the NY-1.

Trigger feel is such a subjective thing that I am not saying this is the hot set-up, I just like the feel of it. The break feels cleaner and the reset is faster and more tactile. Obviously the trigger pull weight is heavier than the standard G34/G35 from the factory.

I will miss the match on the 20th, but will see you after that for the 2nd and 3rd Option D course at BWSC!

Sharon,

after the armorer's course (I was sitting behind and to the right of you), I went home and put the NY1 with " - " connector in my carry g39. I immediately loved the feel. At GSSF, I shoot g19 with factory setup, g34 for competition, and g39 with NY1 in major sub, and don't have trouble moving from one to the other. Maybe one day I will be good enough that it will make a difference and I will standardize them.

see you in Indie.
