:wow: was it a high-capacity assault knife?

He is from small town Ohio and carried the knife the way it has to be carried in Ohio, clipped to his pocket "exposed". I feel bad for the kid, but at least its just a misdemeanor and is wiped in a year. It is beyond ridiculous though.

Its a shame, but if you are going to carry a knife across state lines, know the law. I always carry my knives in my pocket and never use clips, so pretty much my knife is concealed and no one is the wiser. I have carried a folder inside my pocket in both NJ and NYC. After seeing this story, I might invest in a Spyderco UK non locking folder.

I'm also curious on what folder can be flicked open with a wrist flick. It sounds like the one cop had issues, and it took a second cop to really work it to get it open with a wrist flick. With that I think the case should be thrown out.

maybe it had the little nub that you can flick with your thumb? I have never had any luck flicking one open like that though, but it sure looks cool in the movies

Good thing he didn't also have a 1 liter bottle of soda in his backpack - that would have pushed the charge up to a felony.
