Im a paying member of the ifc (iowa firearms coalition) that fights for iowa but not nra. After the speech today i decided to join the nra maybe a lifetime membership even. I will probably do that as i see it as money better spent to help our rights in the future instead of being short sighted and buying up potentially banned gear. Money should be spent on the nra right now- not panic buying.

Amen! Don't forget that if you go to Tom Gresham's Gun Talk (guntalk.com) page, he's a got a link under resources where you can sign up with a $10 discount for a year membership (not sure how it handles lifetime but try it). He gets a commission from that and has pledged to give the proceeds to Second Amendment Foundation so it's really a 2-for deal.

Don't let the NRA be the only people doing all the work. Make sure to figure out who your representatives and senators are. Call them, e-mail them, write them letters, make sure they know that if they want to keep their job next election, they will oppose any anti-gun legislation that comes their way. Get as many people as you can to do it also. The more people who verbally oppose anti-gun legislation, and let their people in washington know they don't like it, the more likely it is that they'll listen.
You have to remember that politicians think with their wallets, if you remind them who is paying their salary, they're more likely to listen then if you sit back and do nothing.
That's freakin awesome to say the least
I wish I could be down at the NRA to see what it is really like. 8,000 per day sounds like a lot to me but I don't know what their normal days are like.
