About time the conservative side starts suing. I had been under the impression that only liberals knew how to do that
I would like to personally thank the NRA for standing up against the baboonery passed by the misinformed Florida House, senate, attorney general and Governor.
The NRA is truly an amazing organization and I stand with them 100% on this decision (I did not support their position after the Vegas shooting when they supported getting rid of bumpstocks though).
I can honestly say that I am extremely proud to be a member of the NRA and I will continue to show my support through donations and the annual renewal of my membership.
As a native born and raised Floridian I am ashamed of my Governor, and all elected officials who voted for this bill. I will remember your names when I see them on Election Day.
A knee-jerk lawsuit is just a waste of their members' money. The age limit is constitutional in NY and CA, so what's different about Florida?
Not really sure what the basis for the suit is. Don’t other states already have 21 as the age limit for for long guns?
They might have had a case if the bump stock thing took immediate effect and caused folks financial burden.

The 14th Amendment:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
I believe the underlined portion is going to be used as grounds for challenging the constitutionality of the new law. It will be between that and the Second Amendment. I think that they have a good argument and I damn sure hope they win.
Ca is 18 on a long gun, can't see anything that says New York is any different. Hawaii and Illinois however have it set at 21.

Maybe it's not a big deal, except to the responsible fathers, single women, adults, homeowners, or parents who just want to protect themselves and their families who happen to be 18, 19, or 20....
(Purposely) Bad angle of attack. False fight just to make a show of resistance. If it was actually something anyone wanted to win they would lean in to the aggressors position.
A fighting mans argument would've been to make them give a clear definition and press for consistency. If they are adults with an asterisk denoting limited rights and freedoms force them to apply it across the board in the places where it really hurts.
Remove the mandate that they must apply for selective service and don't allow them to enlist before they are 21. Up to age 21 parents should still be able to claim them as dependents.
Why pay full price for discount freedoms and liberties?

This is just pandering to make it look like they are fighting against gun control, so folks will forget they are in favor of the bump stock ban.

We must ask the Florida state attorney office to clearly list examples of what other devices they consider as falling under their "bump stock " definition
For example if someone hooks their fingers through the belt loop and bump fires rapidly does this mean a felony has been committed? Is the belt loop now a bump stock since it's been used as a "tool" to mimic a machine gun?
How about a very light hair trigger with a super short reset that can be pulled so rapidly it's almost like a machine gun?
These are seriously important questions that the state attorney must answer clearly as responsible law abiding folks don't want to be unwittingly made into felons.
Once again, I'll wait, watch and reserve judgement till there's more facts and less speculation.
Facts are what we're after from the state attorney to more clearly define what is and is not covered by their bump stock definition...so that people can comply with the law
Exactly. While this law won't affect me or my wife, because we are both long past 21 years old, I do wonder what the politicians will say when an 18, 19, or 20 year old woman is murdered by her psycho ex-boyfriend because she couldn't buy a shotgun to protect herself. It's coming, just wait. They'll all have blood on their hands, but they probably won't give a damn.
