I have about 500 rds through my new 1911 Gaboon from L.S.T. I experience the front tritium tube falling out of the sight. Luckily I was able to find it on my range bag on the bench. The tube fell right back into the front sight with no resistance. I took the gun back to LST who is going to replace the front sight. Has anyone heard of the tube falling out?

Not on that specific model or brand, but yes--and it's a rare occurrence!

Dang, some people have all the luck!

    I just bought a police turn-in G22 with all-but-dead factory night sights.

I would like to remove the tube from the front sight so I can do some experimenting before I replace the sights. (When I was a kid I had a cheap 22 revolver that had a extremely wide front sight. After having trouble maintaining a minute-of-rabbit head group I filed it to a point and my accuracy greatly improved.)

I don't want to break the tube. :yuck:

    Hmmmmmmmmmm?
    :help:
