This week, Obama was in Orlando for his campaign.

A guy that I graduated from High School with, had a $1500 a plate fund raiser dinner in his home the night he was here.

He is now posting photos of that evening on Facebook. The comments some of his friends are making are quite hilarious.

I've been reading some to my hubby....(and adding my verbal comments)! He's laughing hysterically.

I remember this guy well. He was a nice guy in high school, and is now a VERY prominent lawyer in Central Florida....probably all over Florida, now.

We are facebook friends, but I think he just collects as many people as he can.

He had a dinner with Obama and could only get 15 large ones per plate?

I've been to fundraisers where a hardly known governor brought 10k per plate, and 25k for the same table.

I just double checked with my hubby and he said it was $1500!

I'll do an internet check to see if we both heard it wrong, though.

After reading the invitation it seems rates are still pretty standard for a fundraiser dinner with a Pres. The 1,500 figure gets you in the door and you might even eat in the same room, might get to shake hands, but no picture and no "talk time". Probably even be served a different meal than the big money plates. Often where they comp in low level elected officials to curry favor at the grass roots level.

I'd rather have dinner with my dog, he's never lied to me.

sorry... could not force myself to watch
I didn't watch the whole thing, trust me! When that man John introduced came out, I exited the You Tube!

I'm sure this was a GREAT accomplishment of a personal goal for him, which I congratulated him for, but I said I have a difference of opinion, in agreement with a close friend of mine who had posted as well.

He has had a tough road getting where he is. His reputation has had it's ups and downs with the news media and the community. But many people in the legal and democratic/liberal community must think a lot of him now.

I tend to lose my appetite when I see that tool on TV :dunno: Aint no way I'd pay to eat dinner with him. Unless I KNEW I could slip in a few words and that they would for sure be on TV:whistling:

After he is on the tele for a few seconds, we pretty much will change the channel. I suppose his voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard to us by now.

I was like that with Clinton, too. If I saw his face, I changed the channel or left the room.

Most of my life, people that are dishonest have had that impact on me.
