Not a single gun left in my local Walmart. Not one, the cases were all empty. My last trip there in the pre-COVID days they were well stocked with some nice basic long guns, rimfire and centerfire.

Also, .22LR ammo nearly wiped out, could have carried out what little they had in my pockets.

Just when we were finally back from the panic following Sandy Hook. Gonna be a long ride till November.

I believe WalMart made the decision to remove firearms from open display to prevent smash and grab thefts during all this civil unrest.

This wasn’t from massive increases in gun sales.

I think some Wal Marts have removed guns to preventing having them stolen in looting.

Yes, another guy and I saw that so he asked an associate and that's what they said. They were almost out of all ammo, though. Of course, they may just be waiting to restock.

Walmart won't even stop a shoplifter, looters would have a field day.

That may well be, maybe all WalMarts did this even in rural places like mine that are far removed from rioting and looting.

I would hazard to guess that is correct; the Wal-Marts are probably following a regional or national directive from upper management.

Yep that’s what all the big box stores that I know of did depending on where there located.

My local gun shop is getting pretty close to empty, and this guy undercuts Bud's prices and sells a LOT of guns. He was thinking about closing the shop for a while, just because he hardly has anything left to sell.

And yet my Glock 26 languishes on consignment at a local shop.

    The other ones sold though

Never bought ammo or firearms from Walmart so not like they matter for much of anything anyhow .

    Own zero glocks too .

As was posted and widely reported, Walmart locked up their guns and ammo.
Sandy Hook was 7.5 YEARS ago, so my guess is the time between now and the election will fly by for you.

I hear you, but in the past not all WalMarts have done the same. Other places have quit selling guns and done crazy stuff when they didn’t do it here.

No doubt it will fly by, but the point is it took Trump getting elected in 2016 to return to normalcy after 4 very lean ammo years. Right now we have no assurance normalcy will return this November.
