How did you like this ammo? Any info on expansion?

 

looking at their website the bullet looks very similar to an XTP, the ogive and nose of the bullet look very similar

il be interested to see the geometry of the hollow cavity and expansion characteristics

 

I just bought some of this ammo and am considering it for my 30S carry pistol. I can't find any info on expansion of this round out of any length barrel. Anyone find anything? Thanks.

 

I haven’t had a chance to set up an expansion test, so I haven’t shot any yet.

 

I do! It's decent stuff. Now it expands more than Hornady but not like Federal. When it expanded it looks different than any other JHP you normally think of. You have the Hornady looking ones where it just flattens the lead and copper out. You have the HST and Gold Dot look where they look like flowers or something. These almost look like a jacketed soft point or something when expanded. More of like a rounded lead expansion.

Sorry but those look a lot like the limited expansion Hornady crap that I would never buy.
