What a comforting thought. A "rogue nation" led by a dough-boy looking, 1/2 witted little freak with a nuclear weapon. I am conflicted over response. Can we shoot down an attempt to strike the US? If so, then if he tries, shoot it down and go turn NK into a flat space the South Koreans could use as a parking lot. Greasy stain of a little fat freak notwithstanding....

If we can't knock it out, Trump and Mattis need to have "the talk" with him before he gets some wild notion all his insanely faked BS armaggedon videos are real.

The missile test could invite a new round of international sanctions, but North Korea is already one of the most sanctioned countries on Earth. U.N. Security Council resolutions ban it from engaging in any ballistic activities. Since late 2012, North Korea has placed two satellites into orbit with long-range rockets, each time triggering new U.N. sanctions and worldwide condemnation.

It is obvious that sanctions have no meaning to this mad man.

A conflict with N. Korea is a conflict with China . If we are worried about N. Korea , we need to be worried about China . We need to stop sending all of manufacturing jobs there and spending so much money with them .

China is the one that can ease tension there if they really want to and they do not . China is becoming a huge super power , with lots of money , building up their navy and large population of people .

North Korea is just another weapon of China .

Just stop purchasing anything made in China. No more iPhone. No more computers. No more TVs.

    Just stop...

They tested this "intercontinental" ballistic missile by shooting it almost straight up into the upper atmosphere. Flew for 40 minutes and went 5-600 miles downrange. The Polaris A2 missiles I worked on back in 1962 went 1200 miles in 20 minutes flying a real missile profile. When they start shooting these things deep into the North Pacific and have ships at the predicted landing point ready to recover the reentry body I'll start getting nervous.

A quick afterthought: If it flew for 40 minutes and essentially landed almost due east of the launch point how much of that was just caused by the motion of the earth?

It's time to label China more than just a "currency manipulator" and start calling them by what they are: the enemy.

Lol, do you really think that they cannot make it go more sideways if they really wanted to? Besides, they aren't done, they will continue to advance and improve. At this rate you will start getting nervous in another year or two. No one said they have the equivalent of the Polaris.... yet.

I like Trump's tweets yesterday, trying to goad South Korea and Japan into doing something like a 12 year old on the playground trying to get two guys to fight. He obviously has no clue on how to handle this.

I think that if they could make it go more sideways without embarrassing themselves doing it they would be doing it today.

Not at this point , 6 months in office , come on . If there is still unbalanced trade and money , with N Korea still out of control in 4 years I will say yes , he shares the blame .

Looks like he launched an intermediate range missile, not an actual ICBM. Of course, that
Doesn't mean he won't keep trying. I'm wondering how far along their Bioweapons program is.
That's something that's under the radar.

It flew 2000 kilometers straight up, in fact Pacific Command say well over 2000k into the atmosphere, then traveling just less than 600 miles. A quick bit of math gives it about 4100 mile range as is. Apparently able to strike anywhere in AK.

Well that certainly clarifies things. It also means the time for us to act is getting shorter every
Day. Could be an interesting year.

The road that multiple administrations have been kicking this can down is going to dead-end soon.
