I spend time in the Blue Ridge/Ellijay area and was wondering if anyone can give me some idea where I can find an outdoor pistol/rifle range in that area.

That is still a bit of a drive. However, I do appreciate the links. You would think that such a rural area would have more outdoor ranges. Fannin county has only one but it is for law enforcement only.

Sounds like time to rent a front end loader and a 100-yard measuring tape. Voila, your own range. Send us an invite!

There's an outdoor range (free) on highway 156 west of Calhoun.
    There's also one in Adairsville.

I wish that I had that much room. The issue would be the neighbors. It seems to me that a commercial outdoor range in Fannin county could be a success. Even though a rural area an outdoor range would let hunters sight in rifles etc.

I was thinking of those too. Wish I could think of the names.

Thank you, some buddies from Sigforum and I try to go up to Chestnut MT. once a month or so for an unorganized shoot. It has both benches for rifles and a counter type area for pistols. It even has a handicapped (lower counter) spot. 100 yards, an OK access road, no range officer, "modern" outhouse, and a couple of benches for spectators, not bad for $5 for parking.
