Place always has been a powder keg. Doesn't look like anything has changed.

Kim must want money. Obama will solve the problem like other presidents have. Just give him a couple million dollars to shut him up.

Too bad Kim won't spend some of that money on some psychotropic medication.

    From said article:
"Analysts doubt the latest clash will escalate and see it more as an attempt by Pyongyang to stress tensions on the Korean peninsula and press home its demand for a peace deal that would open the way to international aid for its ruined economy."

    /FACEPALM
Yes, that makes perfect sense. If you want peace, shell your well armed neighbors with weapons...

If by "always" you mean "since WWII."

Still scary stuff, especially since the North has been dodgy regarding their nuclear programs. The people in charge are JUST crazy enough to let a few go, if provoked.

I remember last year when Japan was on high alert because of the Norths "testing" of an ICBM. Seems like they're slowly seeing if all their ducks are in a row in case they have to go all out.

That thin strip of land has been hotly contested for hundreds of years - must be the bulgogi or the Yaki Mandu.

Not good; trading artillery rounds can get out of hand fast, given how much damage they can do if even one round lands in the middle of a group of soldiers or civilians.

I read that South Korea reported no damage and no casualties. Looks like North Korea was flexing it's muscle. If they would of hit something it could of turned out much worse.

I suppose the two sides are double checking their coordinates.

I'm all for US troops pulling out of there, letting the two sides blow each other up and then when the dust finally settles down... let the Haitians move in.

Been in Korea many times. The amount of artillery aimed at South Korea would blow your mind, seriously. If that got out of hands millions of people would die in hours.
