All depends on what they do with their .40 models. There is that Gen5/MHS combo for the G22 being tested in Brazil but LEOs are ditching .40 for 9 in the US and most LE agencies and military forces worldwide already use 9. And let's not forget the US civilian market is circlejerking all over the 9, hell Sig might never offer the P365 in any other caliber than 9.I would imagine that Gen4 is more in danger of being discontinued before Gen3.
I've been carrying a Gen3 G19 at work since 2003, last November I was just issued a brand new in the box Gen3 G19 to replace my older one, I bought my retired one at a prorated price. The word in my area for gun dealers Glock is no longer making gen 3's. Looked all over finally found a new G19 gen 3. Picked it up today that will give me two of them. I am pushing 70 they should last me my life time.lol
Are you Palmetto, or just a coincidence to the Company.Sad to see the Gen3 be phased out. That’s bound to happen with anything eventually.
I have had the same Gen3 Glock 23 that I was issued since 2003. I have qualified with it twice a year on all sorts of courses. The thing will probably never need to be retired. If it is I hope to have the option of buying it.

Cool. Thanks. My username has nothing to do with the company. The ‘Palmetto’ is a symbol of the State of SC and the G27 was my favorite Glock at the time.
Glock is notoriously hardheaded when it comes to their ideas. Look how long they have maintained production of their GAP caliber guns. To have them discard 7-8 years worth of development in the Gen 4s to retain an older design makes no sense to me. :dunno:I would imagine that Gen4 is more in danger of being discontinued before Gen3.

I did. I left 14 months ago. What insanity!...is there no end to it in Kalifornia?...I hope all the "reasonable" residents leave there as soon as they can!
Not so. You can't buy a new Glock Gen 4 or newer, unless it is a used gun sold by someone who could buy it. You can possess any used Glock through an FFL (excluding the G18). You can't buy any magazines with a capacity in excess of 10 rounds, but if you owned them before the law, they are "grandfathered in", at least for now. It’s important because here in California, anything newer than a Gen. 3 is not legal to possess!
Here is an interim 10mm candidate: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/12/jeremy-s/new-hi-point-10mm-carbine/If I were to get a Glock Carbine, I would like one in 10mm with a magazine at as long as the G-21 mod from Kriss. That would make me happy.
