As often as this topic comes up I often wonder if it's trolling for a reaction or employees of a rival gun company posting it.........or far more likely the guy at the lgs trying his best upsale technique on you.

I will say a certain online gun store a bunch of us use sold me a g32 gen 3, then a week later decided they didn't actually have what they sold me, so I switched it to a gen 4 to remedy the problem......turns out I like the adjustable backstrap.

Not true...Glock Gen 3's are the only Glocks legal in CA, the second largest gun market in the US...
I suppose the liberals and weirdos in LA, SF, and surrounding out vote the normal folks. This is perhaps the one area the Framers may have gotten wrong. It is California that needs a wall - not to keep people out - but to keep the whackos in.

East Germany had a wall - to keep people in. None of “us” wanted to go there. I never thought I would see the day when one or more of our states fit that same description.

The problem with California whackos is the rich ones move to lovely places like Wyoming, and instead of enjoying life among their new neighbors, they immediately want to turn a beautiful place with good people into the same ****hole third-world hell hole that they just left. The leftists from California are nothing more than a cancer which must be stopped.

So, now hear this. The way it ought to be is that until vetted, all Californians are suspect, and other states would do well to disallow migrants from California, NY, and other detestable places. Yes, it IS that bad. And, yes I know that requires a change to the Constitution. Well, maybe not. Maybe just some “make it up as we go along” judges, you know, like that old windbag RBG, except with the same common sense God gives to dogs. And, the corporate-greedy gun companies should stop all gun sales to LE and the National Guard in California. Henceforth, every gun company should sell to the police only what ordinary citizens can buy. California can go to hell.

not true...after a GSSF match, for those winning a pistol in competition...Glock sends the competitor a listing of all available weapons to choose from [virtually their entire line of products] ...Gen 3 is the base model...any other Gen is considered an 'upgrade' and requires an additional fee...

Gen 3s are, by far, my favorite.

Just got the record, I currently only have 4 Glocks. ALL but 1 are Gen.3 versions. The '1' non-Gen.3 is a 1991 production 2nd Generation G-17, which is perhaps my favorite of them all. It will still produced s single ragged hole group when fed it's preferred diet of WW 115 JHP+P+. I was a somewhat late convert to the Glock world, but after buying that 1st G-17, I was sold. We all know that someday Glock will finally decide to discontinue the Gen.3 series, based of course upon the ultimate guiding business principle, their profit margin ! Hopefully that day will be a long time in coming.

Was looking for a blue label gen. 3 17. Local blue label guy told me they didn’t make them available anymore. Did my online research and told him that I could travel and get one but preferred buying local. He then told me he found 2 of them that he could get then they were gone. Hade him order one. No idea why but I shoot the gen 3 better than a 4. Local guy always charges 25 more than the rest but I still buy from him. I thought GSSF set the prices, how can he charge more?

Blue Label might be an issue. Simply because most FLEO/LEO organizations that allow (POW). My G-17 Generation 3 was grandfathered in. However, they were offering different magazine Springs when the 4 came out due to failures.

I
My local dealer has had a hard time finding Gen 3s recently as well. Discontinued? I'd be shocked. I CAN see Glock choosing to throttle back production for now. How long and to what extent is the question.

I initially thought Glock would make the Gen 5s somewhat of a limited run. With the addition of the 26 and the thread about a foreign 22, I may have erred. Keeping the full production of the three generations is a lot of models going at once.

It could be nothing more than a very short term situation with supply catching back up quickly. :dunno:

Time will tell.[/QUOTEit is still a good excuse to the finance department to put some “investment” insurance in the safe

Every few weeks someone posts that Gen 3s are no longer being produced. Its like when my girlfriend "looses" her phone. I no longer get worried.
I wonder if this is going to replace the Glock carbine rumor now that Ruger has issued a Glock Carbine?

If I were to get a Glock Carbine, I would like one in 10mm with a magazine at as long as the G-21 mod from Kriss. That would make me happy.
