Amazon.com will accept your order and ship upon arrival. You basically are lining up with others for the next shipment.

Good luck with your acquisition.

I don't know if they have the D200 in stock, but can only chime in to say that I have bought a lot of stuff from Amazon over the years, and was never disappointed. Decent prices and reasonably fast shipping.

I would be wary of amazon. When you buy through them, they have contracts with other sellers. I am still waiting for merchandise I purchased at the end of March, that was supposedly in stock but haven't received yet. You might have a long, long wait for your camera if you go through them. Another way to go, might be Ebay. A store named Cameta Auctions is reputable and everything they sell is Nikon USA, so the warranty is a US warranty. Just something to consider. I got lucky with mine. I just happened to be in the local camera store when a shipment came in and picked it up right then and there for retail price. If you have a local store, you might see if you can order one through them. Good luck. It is a great camera. I love mine.

RULE #1 ABOUT BUYING NIKON GEAR:

Always buy from an authorized reseller, so you know you are getting a USA model, or you are going to have no warranty coverage.

If you get a Gray Market (non-USA unit) item Nikon USA will not service it, not even for a fee.

Personally, I got a great deal on my D2X when it was released from CordCamera, they are authorized and they sell cheap on ebay. Search Ebay for "CordCamera".

I agree with HalfMoon on this.

Never buy a Nikon product from other than an authorized dealer and never without the USA warranty.

Nikon USA does not touch non USA Nikon products for repair in or out of warranty.

Likewise when buying photo equipment thru Amazon they ofter refer your order to a dealer other than themselves and have no responsibility for your order or satisfaction. Read who is the actual seller before ordering photographic equipment thru them and read their reseller rating first.

Buying photo equipment on line is a crapshoot except from B&H and JandR. Buyer beware.

Just wait until B&H or JandR has it or buy from a local photo dealer, especially for a $2000 purchase.

AMENDMENT: As of 1:30 PM Friday May 19, B&H has it in stock with the kit lens.

JandR does list the body as in stock as of today.

KEH in Atlanta, www.KEH.com, shows it. You might e-mail them to see if they have the kit in stock.
