How are the factory night sights vs...

    Meprolights
    Truglo
    Truglo+tritium
    Trijicon

    etc.?

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks,

I would add to this question with:

Are all equally as bright? I've seen some be really bright in regular daylight and some that don't glow well until it's dark...

I have the Truglo TFO nightsights and they are brighter than the factory nightsights in a side by side comparison. I havent seen the others but you wont be disappointed in the Truglo sights.

By the way, day or night the Truglo TFO sights work great. Check my picture. The sights are still bright in a fully lit room.

do they really stand out in regular light? I'm just confused on the brightness factor because I only have the set on my new 30 and I feel like they are weak (they don't show at all until it's dark). But having no other sights to compare to and being a rookie at this stuff...

I have Meprolights on all but 2 of my Glocks. 2 of my Kahrs have Trijicons. The Trijicon sights look brighter, but the vials seem to be smaller. I have an easier time picking up the Meps in daylight and, of course, they are more than serviceable in the dark. My Glock 37 and 38 have Ameriglo slopes on them and they really don't seem any different in brightness to the Trijicons. I just acquire (another) G19 and I'm going to go for the Truglo TFO sights. They've gotten good marks and they look like winners. So this isn't going to help you much, but all that you list are very well executed and first rate quality.

Personally, I really don't like the Glock Night Sights.

The encapsulant around the dot on the front sight reflects sunlight and screws up my daytime sight picture.

The rear dots are too big...

    I much prefer trijicons.

For those who use the Truglo TFOs... Do you prefer the high or low version?

My Trijicons have this printed in white lettering on the right side of the back sight and the top of the front.

    Does this mean anything significant?

They were made in 1997. So they're about 9 years old already.

OK, well the shop that I bought my NIB g30 (4 months ago) thru also put "new" nightsights on for me. Apparently not so new after all. They get a phone call from grumpy me tomorrow...

I'd stick with Trijicon, Meprolight or get the TRUGLO TFO's. In my experience, the Glock sights I have aren't up to par. The front sight on the Meps seem a tad brighter to me but you can't go wrong with Trijicon either.

I cheaped out and got Mepro's. They seem to look just like my Trijicon's on my Sig except bi-color.

I liked the TFO's the best but did not find them locally. I think the TFO's are really that good!

Greg, I'm interested in the Ameriglo's. I think I want to go with the Classic N/S but had rather have the .125 width front. Do you have these in stock in a configuration like this? For a G19?

Also is it true that the Ameriglos contain Trigicon tubes?
