I just got my new G19 and I'm in the market for some night sights. I've never had night sights on any of my guns and would like to know what you all recommend. My brothers duty gun has Trijicon sights on it and they look good. Also, installing them...is that something I can do myself or do I need some special tools? Thanks

Ive had all kinds of night sights, with that said 3 stand out to me the TFO's which really stand out in the daylight as well of course at night too, and the low profile Meprolights, which I really like too, Trijicons are also good too, can't go wrong with any of those, if you can make it to a good gun show you should be able to see them all, unless you have a sight pusher I'd let them install them, especially at a gun show, should price out at about 80.00 installed OTD, side note: the best thing about getting your own sight pusher is you can always sight your guns in yourself.

You can install them easily with a sight pusher. MGW is the brand most use. You can get one used in the Want Ads occasionally.

You can also borrow a sight pusher sometimes.

Some say you can drift them into place, but I don't like to hammer on my guns.

Trijicons, Meprolights, and most others are all good sights. Just stay away from the orange color. It has a shorter life.

My Glocks all have the green/green Meprolights set-up.

Well if you're hammering on your gun, you're doing it wrong.

You use a metal punch, hit the punch and use the punch to drive the site..
I like Meprolight and XS Big Dot 24/7's... w/ the XS being my fav.

Two of my Glock's (G-19 & G 36) have Glock factory night sights, and they work as well as my other guns with Trijicon night sights. At least to me they do. I am not sure what company manufacture's Glocks night sights. Maybe someone on the forum can tell you that.

Thank for the info, now I'm looking at the XS Big Dot's. That seems to be what I want.

Glock uses Meprolights. I use a green mep on the front sight and red on the back.

Make sure you really like these before you get these..They are great for fast acquisition but they totally suck for a range gun...if you are a person that punches paper a lot and like to keep your groupings tight these are not the sights for you

Thanks for the heads up, I saw that in some of the reviews. I shoot a lot, but all my handguns are primarily self defense/carry guns, especially my Glock, so I think this would be the way to go.

If I get a G19 next I'm going with Glock night sights.
