My wife was helping my mom move some things today while I was working. I had a bad day, didn't think it would get better. About 2 hours after getting home, she says we found this today at your mom's house. I thought you might like it. It was a Buck 703 old English script made with 440C steel. My dad's EDC knife, it even has his initials on it. What a way to end a great day. 15822426741941675730895943085364.jpg

I soaked it in mineral spirits, cleaned a lot of pocket lint, dried out out, applied some Rem oil. There's a a few rust specks in the liner, a couple of drops of dried paint paint that scraped off. Now I'm wondering; if I should have just left it as is, but I think it will be better to make it my EDC.

Cool find for sure. But if you start carrying it, think about how bad you'd feel if you ever lost it.

That’s awesome you have your dad’s pocket knife I can see the point if you lose it , but carrying the old mans Buck around would be pretty cool. Congrats on the find , and that’s definitely a great way to turn around a bad day

It's nice to have a piece of family history to keep around. I still have my dad's old Sears Roebuck .22 single shot rifle manufactured by Winchester.

Stuff like that becomes my “good clothing stuff”
I have everyday cloths. They get the flashlight with dents, scratches...cheap knife I abuse... my town cloths get good light, knife...

I would absolutely carry that - in fact, it would never leave my side.
